![]() ![]() Having a lot of charge means having a lot of firepower. It can be done through reaching many combos of 15 and buying certain items in the shop. Maximizing the amount of charge your gunboots has is more beneficial than many realize. ![]() You can get 300 gems for every 24 enemies, triple that of what you would receive from health maxing, making it more effective for gaining health and battery than health maxing if you are using handstand style and entering every shop. A combo of 8 will get you 100 free gems and an instant gem high. Gem maxing is done by getting as many combos of 8 as possible. The best styles for this strategy are arm spin and levitate. The best weapon module for this in the beginning is the machine gun, and this is the easiest to do in limbo, the fourth zone. To get these combos, land on multicolored/white enemies and shoot every solid/red enemy. Health maxing is best achieved by reaching combos of 25 and landing, picking up health modules, and buying max health and +2HP upgrades in the shop, especially with full health. Arm spin style will give you the most free items, and handstand style will allow you to purchase the most items. Health is more valuable than anything else in the game, and reaching a max hp of at least 6 before entering the aquifer stages will prove beneficial, especially in hard mode. There are three key strategies that you will find fit the style you chose best: health maxing, gem maxing, and charge maxing. Handstand Style - No upgrades but shop items are extremely cheap.Levitate Style - Falls slower, jumps higher, and gets boosted higher than other styles do from firing certain weapons.Boulder Style - Starts with 6 HP, falls faster, and only gets 2 upgrades between stages.Arm Spin Style - Gun Modules replace gem deposits and shops are uncommon.Hard mode is unlocked after beating the game for the first time with any style. Outrunning enemies is easier in Limbo than in other stages because of the increased gravity.Äownwell has two modes and five styles. They are the only enemy in Limbo that will go out of its way to chase you, so kill them while they are below you. Phantoms are the flying things in Limbo with angry expressions.Popping Gems, Gunpowder Blocks, and the Heart Balloon upgrade are the most useful for dealing with these. Outrunning enemies in Aquifers is harder because you fall slower. Treat them like bats except shoot them if you can. Piranhas don't like to begin their attack until you get below them.If you shoot one, keep shooting it, and if you pass it after shooting it, don't slow down too much. Flying skulls should be either ignored or landed on.Ghosts should be handled like bad bubbles from Caverns, but you can also kill them by jumping in and out of a timevoid and leading them into it, as they will go through the wall.Sometimes it is best to ignore these enemies. If you encounter two at once, kill one and ignore the other. Shoot the bones they toss, then plummet onto their head. Skeletons can be stunned, but they are less predictable than frogs.Frogs can be stunned by shooting them once.If they get behind you, run until they are far off the screen. Stomp on bats if they're on the wall, otherwise, shoot the blocks they are underneath and land on them. ![]() Enemies that are a solid secondary color (the color of gems) are only able to be shot. Enemies with a primary color (the color of your character) are able to be landed on and killed. Most enemies in Downwell can be easily killed, but some should be handled differently. ![]()
