What i'm basically suggesting is to give us the ability to synergize units in a way that we wouldn't have to rely only on barracks. An unit that gets stronger each wave he survives. A Lizard Slayer that has bonus damage and/or defense againts Lizards. A Weasel Slayer that has bonus damage and/or defense against Weasels. A Zombie Rat Slayer that has bonus damage and/or defense against Zombie Rats. An unit that when it dies, survives for an extra 3 seconds An unit that gets +x/+x based on the amount of rats deployed on a particular wall. An unit that deals more damage when below 50% hp. An unit that the less hp he has the more attack speed he has. An unit that gets a permanent buff when kills an enemy. An unit that gets a temporary buff when healed.
